And now for Sync

Page history last edited by PBworks 17 years, 1 month ago

The prompt that Sarah Mae and I wrote came from our reading of Sync. It is the book we chose to read and present to the class. The images we chose were based on themes of the book; fire flies, sync and randomness. I picked the images before I had read the book and now after reading the first half, I look at the images different. My favorite image is the second one; it is the image for sync. I didn’t realize how much synchronization played a role in our lives until this book, even non-living things can synchronize (Chapter 4) and I also understand my sleeping troubles better now because of Chapter 3 ( I will tell you more in class). The swirl pattern of the second image reminds me of the pendulum swinging. If you follow the highs and lows around the parameter of the image, it is like the back and forth swinging of a pendulum. The image comes to a point in the center because everything in the universe is synchronized. It might sound like I am talking out of my ass and one could say that the artist had something different or even nothing in mind when they created the image, but that is what I think of when I look at the image now.
