My guilty pleasure is very much like Meagan's and I would not be surprised if quite a few others shared this trait. For the most part I enjoy taking care of myself physically. This was not always the case, quite the opposite actually, for a long time I beat the shit out of myself physically and suffered the consequences physically as well as emotionally and spiritually. When I was persuaded to take a new approach on living, taking care of myself physically was a significant part of that approach. I began to exercise regularly as well as monitor what I ate. I began to try and eat a whole lot more natural foods like fruits, vegtables, and turkey and a whole lot less unnatural foods like Whoppers, Haagen-Dazs, and Krispy Kremes. Slowly but surely, as I changed my approach to life, my life began to change in a way that I found very enjoyable. It has been years since I've had a Whopper, that bastion of American excess, and I am a much happier man for it. However, when I'm down or tired I have a tendency to go OFF on baked goods. This has been a recurring pattern for some time even though I have promised myself to do better on many occasions. I'll go a whole week exercising and eating healthy and feeling good because of it and then one day I'll feel tired or sad and I'll pull into Publix and get me some fried chicken and a coffee cake - a whole cake - and a half gallon of milk and I'll eat it all. Then I'll lie there for about a half hour moaning before I pass out in a sugar induced coma. I'll come to a couple of hours later, feeling like shit, and promising myself that was absolutely the last time I do that. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to add a couple of miles to my run tommorrow.
