Ok, this also is a work in progress, so I will most likley be adding to it as the week progresses, but here are a few to start you off from my random musical palette. Similarly to brian, most of the reasons for picking these songs are their lyrics which I have posted beneath them.
Lots of hate and Lots of love...thats what its all about, the balance.
I know the pieces fit cuz I watched them fall away
mildewed and smoldering, fundamental differing,
pure intention juxtaposed will set two lovers souls in motion disintegrating as it goes testing our communication
the light that fueled our fire then has burned a hole between us so
we cannot see to reach an end crippling our communication.
I know the pieces fit cuz I watched them tumble down no fault, none to blame it doesn't mean I don't desire to
point the finger, blame the other, watch the temple topple over.
To bring the pieces back together, rediscover communication.
The poetry that comes from the squaring off between,
And the circling is worth it. Finding beauty in the dissonance.
1b. Tool - Aenima.
I didnt want to do two from the same artist, but I just couldnt decide which one I wanted to put more so I just made this one 1b. I just did an MP3 for the last tool song, but I wanted to put one of their videos up because I think their totally f***ed up (although this is one of their more tame videos), for me it takes away from the song, but I guess sometimes you have to take the total package as the artists intended, and appreciate it for what it is. I also appologize for the language if it offends anyone.
Fret for your figure and Fret for your latte and Fret for your lawsuit and
Fret for your hairpiece and Fret for your prozac and Fret for your pilot and
Fret for your contract and Fret for your car....
Fuck L Ron Hubbard and Fuck all his clones.
Fuck all these gun-toting Hip gangster wannabes.
Fuck retro anything. Fuck your tattoos. Fuck all you junkies and Fuck your short memory.
Fuck smiley glad-hands with hidden agendas. Fuck these dysfunctional, insecure actresses.
Cuz I'm praying for rain and I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way. I wanna watch it all go down.
Mom please flush it all away. I wanna see it go right in and down.
I wanna watch it go right in. Watch you flush it all away.
I know Im mixing it up with this one, but everyone is taking these so seriously so I felt it was my duty to add at least one silly one. Im not going to put any lyrics with this one, all I'm gunna say is, have you ever felt like a blind spider navigating grass blades completely by feel with your bad-ass fat old abdomen stuck in the buggy seat?
3. Rusted Root - Send me on my way
Just for the hell of it. I cant find two sets of lyrics that are the same for this song, but I love the song....even before it was in some dumb animated movie. It puts me in a happy mood :)
4. The Beatles - All you need is love
I think writing the lyrics here would be a little redundant.
5. Reo Speedwagon - Time for me to fly
I've been around for you I've been up and down for you
But I just can't get any relief
I've swallowed my pride for you I've lived and lied for you
But you still make me feel like a thief
You got me stealin' your love away 'cause you never give it
Peeling the years away and we can't relive it
I make you laugh and you make me cry
I believe it's time for me to fly
You said we'd work it out you said that you had no doubt
That deep down we were really in love
Oh, but I'm tired of holding on to a feeling I know is gone
I do believe that I've had enough
6. Louis Armstrong - What a wonderful world (my personal favorite)
The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' "How do you do?"
