Music Prompts

Page history last edited by PBworks 17 years, 2 months ago

I am just going to do all four prompts in one blog space. I really liked the idea of the propmts, however, I am relly bad a t remembering names of songs and who sings them. I employed my boyfriend to help me on this assignment. I'm not sure why some of the songs play when you open the page so sorry if it is a little annoying. You have to pause them all and hit play one at a time.

1. Pick ten songs you love.

With some of the songs, it is kind of hard to say why. I just do. Is that good enough? I like music with an odd sound, video or a message. I think all of these songs do. I love listening to 80’s music; there is nothing better than 80 minutes of non stop music at 8:00am from 101.5 on the way to school. I love local ska bands. Their shows have so much energy. This isn’t my favorite Luck Boys Confusion song, most of the ones on U-tube were crappy quality. I love a lot of Blue October’s songs; “18th Floor Balcony” could go in here or Hend’s section but I put it here because I still need a few more songs at this point. It was hard picking one Rise Against song. The first song of theirs that I really liked was “Swing Life Away” but now I like so many more of their songs, they have such great messages in their songs. They are an awesome band. Authority Zero made the list for a few reasons; they have the great fight songs. But also because I have been to a few of their concerts, 5 or so, and they are like hot sex; pardon the language but there is no other way to describe it. The put of the best concert I have been to by far. I also love the Postal Service, Snow Patrol, and HelloGoodbye but they will get played later so I tried to pick other bands.

I can't find the music code for this one so follow the link and play 4th street. Can't Do It

2. Please pick 5-10 songs that just describe you.

It wasn’t hard to come up with the songs I waned for this prompt. I am ridiculously in love right now and most of what I listen to sappy love songs, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. The songs I picked are songs that I would listen and hope one day, just maybe I could find a love like that and I did. Snow Patrol “Chasing Cars” and HelloGoodbye “Here” are ‘our songs’. I picked both of them out for us but he likes them too. We would change our myspace song twice a day or so with new songs for each other when we first stated dating. When I first thought that I had fallen in love with him, but didn’t want to tell him I played “Chasing Cars” for him. I think he got the hint. “Here” reminds me of our first date. We drove around in his big truck all night with out the radio on just talking. It also reminds me of the first time we spent the night together and got to wake up together. It was so nice. Brad Paisley “The world” is how he makes me feel, although the video doesn’t match. I feel on top of the world when I am with him. Diamond Rio “Beautiful Mess” is how I feel most of the time. I can’t get enough of him. I love the video for it too. It is so cute. The last song, Diamond Rio “Meet in the Middle”, Sean picked out. We are both stubborn people and after we made up from our first misunderstanding he put that song up on myspace for me to hear. Now every time, we start to fight we both try to give a little.

3. Your first.

I really liked this prompt. I knew which song I wanted to put up right away but it took forever to find it.I'm not going to say anymore about it, just let the song speak for itself.

4.Pick your favorite cover song.

It is one of the few cover songs I can’t decided which I like better; the original or the cover. I usually like one or the other, never really both. However, I think they both are really good. I didn’t know The Postal Service version was a cover until I heard it one 101.5 The Point. They sound different, I like how The Postal Service remixed it and added their own style but didn’t take away from the original beauty of the song.
