Week Six, Blog Two: Guilty Pleasures and Dichotomy

This is painful. This is probably the most surprising (waning) interest that I have (at least, that's what I hear). When I was younger (ages 6-13) I used to love catching WWF Superstars of Wrestling, a weekly television program that, in my area, came on at either 10:00 in the morning or 12:00 midnight. I think Hulk Hogan was pretty much my 'hero' at the time, and I can remember tearing up a bit when Yokozuna defeated him at King of the Ring '93.

These days I've got a collection of VHS tapes of PPVs and TV shows between '87-'98. I occasionally pop one in the VCR and reminisce.

That ^ sh*t is lovely.

That's is reminiscent of Klansmen burning. It's quite ominous in that way. I don't think much else of it, except that it sort of resembles layers of processed cheese. So, maybe this is imagery from a perverse version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (insert Cheese Whiz Factory).

Note: I do not condone conventional, US cheese production.

OMG, Ric Flair and Macho Man Randy Savage! My stepdad used to watch wrestling all the time (and still does when my mom's not around) so I have some pretty fond memories of watching all of that stuff.
